Well Happy New Year to you all.

Both Sylvia & myself hope you had a great Christmas & New Year & are managing to keep to all your New Resolutions unlike myself...........

My first resolution was to be more organised & here I am at gone 1am updating this blog the night before we all meet........I think I can firmly say I've well & truly broken that one !!!

Oh well better late than never, so here goes

Card 1 - Love Tag

As Valentines is before we meet next month I thought I'd do one for all you romantics but also make it so it could be given at some other time too.

Another of my New Year Resolutions was try to make at least card that was suitable for the men in our lifes so here is this months offering (Lets see how long before I break this resolution too)

With this card I'm going to show you an easy way to colour your vellum any colour you like, although the picture does not show it very well the vellum is actually a pale blue colour.

Hi Everyone hope you are all keeping well.

Since our last meeting I have been as busy as ever but I did manage to spend some much needed time with my family even if it did involve looking like this...........

I'll explain more when I see you all (But NO wisecracks about not seeing any difference in my appearance)

Now that Halloween & Bonfire night are well out of the way I'm sure most of our crafting minds are firmly focused on starting or in some cases finishing off those "millions" of Christmas cards we all seem to make at this time of year........So with this firmly in mind I have tried to make some speedy examples for you all BUT & this is a BIG BUT for this to work I need all you Hethersett ladies to try to do most of your prepping at home.......so get those papers chosen & cut & we will all then end up making LOADS of lovely cards. If you want to bring spare card/paper with you then if you have time you can choose to make a stack of your favourite designs.

Hi everyone, can you believe how quickly this past month has gone & it's now only 81 days until Christmas!!!!!!!!! So with this Revelation in mind, this month's cards are all Christmas themed.

So get your tinsel out & put on your best Christmas hats & I hope you enjoy the cards we have on offer..............

Card 1 - Bauble Magic 1

With this card I will show you a cheats way to get that perfect bauble and once you know the secret you will be able to adapt it to lots of other shapes.

This card uses two of my favourite products - Heat & Stick powder & Glitter....... YIPEEEEEE

Hi everyone, well what a busy time I've had since our last meeting. The most important being, celebrating "Mini ME" or Amy's 10th Birthday. We spent a lovely day at Africa Alive with Amy & 1 of her little friends on Saturday, where their favourite area was the walk through Ring Tail Lemur encounter.

Sorry again for being late uploading these cards but work is exceptionally busy at the moment & therefore I have been doing full time hours so I have had no spare time to do the blog.

As Sylvia said in her email, I will be flying solo this weekend so any help anyone can give me with setting/tidying up will be greatly appreciated.

So here goes with the cards:

Card 1 - Howday cowboy

This was the card we had left over from our previous meeting.

Card 2 - Four door Christmas card

This card was inspired by the new cards that Docrafts are now selling for £3.99 for 4 & I thought why buy them when I could make my own, so this is what I cam up with.

Card 3 - One for the Boys

This card I have to admit I totally copied from a recent magazine but I thought it was quite good fun especially for those men in our lives.

Card 4 - Vicki's Stretch card

I'm sorry but I'm not able to upload this card yet as I cannot find the lead I need to get the picture from my phone to my computer. I'm hoping the majority got to see the sample last month & can remember what it looked like.

Firstly I'd just like to say a big thank you for all the lovely birthday cards I have received this month. They all so unique & beautiful, I can only imagine that you all must be attending some great classes to be able to create such wonderful creations HA HA

Also I'd like to say another big thank you for all the kind messages/emails I have received following my car crash which happened after last months class. Unfortunately my car was a write off but luckily Amy & myself escaped unhurt. I'm sorry if I have not replied to your message but as you can imagine I have been rather busy with the insurance companies & trying to track down a replacement car but please be assured that your kind words really helped me to get through this awful experience.

Now to this months samples...........Well it's now less than 6 months to our busiest time of the year - CHRISTMAS. With this in mind we have decided to dust off our Christmas stash & have dedicated this months meetings to the big day HO HO HO.

Card 1 - It's a Wreath Thing

My sample uses traditional Christmas colours but hopefully if I have time I will try to make a sample using a more contemporary colourway - I'm thinking pinks or purples.

Card 2 - Have a cool Yule

This card uses Stampin Up's Owl punch to make these cute little critters, so if you do possess this punch it would be great if you could bring it along with you, as it will speed the process up greatly.

I have stamped my card front with a snowflake stamp but if you prefer you could use a piece of Christmas paper instead.

Card 3 - Circle Snowflakes

Here are 2 version of the same card. On the first one I have used peel offs & the second one I have stamped & have embossed the snowflakes but you could use silver/gold ink without any embossing.

Card 4

Sorry I don't know the name of this one but its a way to get another look from your stamps. I'm sure if you had 2 identical peel offs they could be used instead.

Well hello everyone, hope you are all well & enjoying all the wonderful weather we are having.

I'm in the process of completely stripping out my garden & starting afresh, so if there are any budding garden designers out there who would like a whole blank canvas to work with then please get in touch with me, I need all the help I can get.

Planning is also under way for my new craft room AKA our garage. So when this is completed I will be able to start the monthly evening classes that I spoke of some time ago.

After all that gossip I suppose I had better get on with showing you all this months cards. With Father's day in just a few days time, all our cards this month can be used for the men in our life

Sorry about the delay again this month, Blogger would let me write but not upload the pictures so until I got that corrected there seemed little point publishing this post.

This month each group will be doing slightly different cards so please take note of which group you attend. Aylsham will then get a chance to do the other cards next month.

So I'll start with Aylsham's cards

Card 3 - Cupcake & Banners - this is one that was missed when we had to cancel Decembers meeting. The flags are just scraps of patterned paper.

Card 4 - One for Easter - here we are using punches to make different flowers & even the fence is made from punches

This card came about when I accidently cut my image thinking it was a scrap piece of card. I do love how its turned out.

So sorry to be posting these cards so late again but having only had 2 weeks since the last meeting as well as having other demo commitments I just have not had the time to update the blog before now.

I have taken on board all of your suggestions for card themes you would like me to cover. So this month I have tried to make some child friendly cards but as I am conscious that not every member of these groups have loads of children to send cards to, I hope you can see that they can be changed to make them more suitable for adults too.

Card 1 - U Rock
This one is aimed mainly at the teenagers in our life but maybe you know an old rocker you could send it to instead.

Card 2 - One for the little girls

Think bright colours for the little girls but if you want to subdue the colours then it will make it more suitable for the older "little girls" in our lives. The words on my card were some rub ons I found in my stash.

Card 3 - Alien Invasion

I have the little boys in mind for this card. I will have all the stamps I have used.

Card 4 - One layout, 2 generations.

If we have time we will do these cards. I wanted to show you how by changing just the colours you can change the whole feel of the card. You will need to decide if you are doing a child's card or adult as this will effect the colour scheme you choose. I will have all the numbers available for you to choose from.

Hi everyone hope you all had a great Christmas & New Year (boy don't they feel like a distant memory now!!!)

Can I just say on behalf of Sylvia & myself a big thank you for your continued support of these clubs. We have been meeting for about 7 or 8 years now & you are the best group of ladies we could wish to meet. So sorry for not having posted these samples earlier but as Sylvia explained I have been rather busy being Santa's little helper at Amy's school as well as attending 4 Nativity plays !!!!!! I'll explain more on Sunday.

As requested we have no Christmas cards this month. Not that you need them as I'm sure you all have now finished making all the cards you need.........

As mentioned in the email the first 2 cards came from a challenge by Cathy to use all the hundreds of skeleton leaves she had in her stash, I've tried to do something different with them & I'll bring along some more samples I've made up to inspire you all.

Don't worry if you have no skeleton leaves in your possession as Cathy has kindly said she does not mind people using hers....so a big Thanks to Cathy for that.

Well here I'm again having survived one very tiring birthday outing and sleepover or should that be "chatover".

Hope you all had a good time without me last month although I hear there were quite a few people not feeling so well, especially Sylvia who soldiered on regardless. Thanks to everyone who gave her a helping hand last month, you really are the best group of ladies I know.

So here goes with this months card samples:

This is a different folded card that gives you 4 quarters on the card front to decorate, mine is an autumnal version but I also have a Christmas version to show you as well.

Card 2 - Bauble peel off challenge

This card is so called because Sylvia gave me a load of Christmas peel offs to try and do something with, so this is what I came up with.

This card has an acetate overlay that we are going to stamp on.

Hi everyone hope you all had a better Easter than myself.

We as a family had a lovely time in Dorset but on our return we had to have our elderly cat put to sleep as she suddenly developed a heart condition & given that she was over 20 years old there was little the vet could do for her. We are now coming to terms with her not being around but I especially miss her at it was my lap she nearly always choose to sit on, so I now have to have a blanket over my legs in the evening to keep them warm.

Now back to happier things here are this months cards for each group. Hopefully by next month both groups will be doing similar projects which will certainly help me not to get so confused.

March Cards

Sorry ladies if you were all expecting this months cards to be on the blog by now but I seem to have run into a bit of a problem.

I seem to have mislaid my camera somewhere & this therefore makes it impossible for me to take pictures of the cards & then upload them to this blog.

Both members of my family also own digital cameras but hubbies one seems to be broken & Amy does not appear to trust her Mummy with her one & has therefore hidden it saying she will only allow me to use it in her presence so she can teach me the correct usage of it & also she does not want me losing her one too!!!!

I'm hoping I may be able to borrow one tomorrow but as I'm now about to do 2 long days (07.00am - 7.30 pm) at work I cannot realistically seeing me being able to get the cards uploaded until Weds pm at the earliest.

Sorry again & hopefully normal service will resume shortly.

January Cards

Well can you believe we are only now having our first meeting for 2010 & in a couple of weeks it will be February's meeting!!!!

Sylvia & I do hope you all had a great Christmas & New Year, it seems all but a distance memory now, only another 11 months before we do it all again.

Here goes with this months cards which you will notice all have a bit of a LOVE theme about them. If you prefer not to do this theme just bring the appropriate stamps etc for the theme you which to do.

This is card 1 the Easel card. This card sort has been in the crafting press quite a bit recently it is a very different card sort but oh so easy to make.

Card 2 is a Valentine note card which again is not an average type of C6 card, again please feel free to change the colour scheme to make it into a different theme.

My last card looks pretty ordinary from the front but it holds a special surprise inside but I'm not going to tell you any more. You do need good quality card to make this one. Stampin Up works well but so would Bassill.

December Calender cards

Well here it is at last my calender card. I really do not know what's going on with Blogger but I've had real problems with both my blogs, is anyone else having the same problems?

This card uses a "figure of eight" beer mat, which I have to admit is harder to cover but then you do not have the problem of joining it together at the end. I will have some of these mats available for you to use.

On this second card I've made it slightly more complicated by adding 4 different pictures that can be changed according to the season. As time is of the essence we will be doing a 1 image card but this is for extra inspiration.

December cards

Well hello again, are you all ready for Christmas yet? I know I'm not so if anyone fancies buying some presents or making a few cards for me then let me know.

So here are a couple of this months offerings & as I get the pictures for the others (hint hint Sylvia) I'll upload those too.

This card is Sheila's acetate card & in real life it is very pretty but unfortunately I could not get it to photograph that well. Sheila's example is a Christmas one but I do have some non Christmas acetate for those who prefer to make a different theme.

This is my 2 in 1 card so called because you can get 2 cards out of 1 C6 card. You can make your card into any theme but I will have the stamp I have used with me (Stampin Up). We will also be using the Cuttlebug with the Nestabilities folders so if any of you own any of these please feel free to bring them along.

I'm now off to make my last project - the calender card.

For those who will be unable to make it on Sunday may I wish you on behalf of Sylvia & myself a very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year.

An Extra Craft Day

As the original craft weekend has had to be postponed till Spring I have managed to organise a day of crafting instead.

We will be doing lots of different projects that we do not have time to do at our usual meetings. All the supplies will be provided for you as well as refreshments & biscuits.

So if you fancy having a whole day of crafting with lots of giggles & fun & a chance for you to forget about the hustle & bustle of Christmas then book your place with me.

The cost is £15 but you will get everything to make all the projects on the day (you just need to bring our basic kit).

Places are limited so don't miss out.

November Meeting

Thanks to all who attended the 2 groups this weekend. I hope you all enjoyed the projects we did especially as they were a bit different from just cardmaking, let me know if you want more of the same.

I thought it was about time the wider world got to see all your projects & not just my efforts. As most of you noticed I had my camera with me at the weekend & spent a lot of my time busily taking snaps, so here are all your wonderful creations for everyone to admire. I'm sorry I cannot put a name to all the projects but if you spot yours & want your name attached to it let me & it will be done.

NORWICH CRAFT WEEKEND

Just to let you all know the exciting news Jill Boulton in conjunction with Jill Tuck from The Stampman (as seen on Create and Craft) have organised a Craft Weekend in Norwich.

The details are as follows
When: Saturday & Sunday 5th & 6th December
Where: St. George's Hall, Stoke Holy Cross near Norwich
Time - 10.00 - 16.00

Topics covered

Saturday - Starburst stains workshop where you will learn all the spraying and painting techniques, including scrunch and cling film to create a lovely book.

Sunday am - Metal work using the Walnut Hollow tools - Come and learn the basic techniques to get the most out of these tools and create some lovely cards

Sunday pm - Tim Holtz stuff - alcohol inks, distress inks, grunge paper.

Cost - £100 for all weekend

The price includes Walnut Hollow metalwork tools worth £35 which are yours to keep after the workshop. If you already have the these tools (or the Ten Second Studio equivalents) you'll get a discount.

November Cards

Well here we are again, it does not feel like a month has gone by!.

I'm sorry I was not on my best form this past weekend, for those Aylsham girls who thought it was due to my late night the previous night, I can now assure you this was not the case. As when I got home & looked in the mirror at my sore throat I discovered I had rip roaring tonsillitis - now all say AHHHH.

Well here are next months offerings. We thought we would try something different & not have only cards this month. Hope you all approve & do tell us what you all think.

Card 1 for Aylsham you will find in the September posting & we promise to do these first so as not to run out of time again.

These are the card 2 or should that be decorations that both groups will be making. I will also complete a card using the same decorations so if we have time you can have a go at that too. Watch this space for more details.

These were made using scallop punches so if you have your own bring them along as it will speed things up. The punches can be any shape or size but scallops work best. I've used both thin paper & normal weight card & I have to say that once made up the thinner paper seems to work best but I'll leave it up to you to decide. I've also added some bling using a glue pen & glitter.

Card 3 for both groups has been designed by Judy from the Aylsham group. Its an unusual triangular card that folds flat for easy posting.

Judy has cleverly used leftovers from old cards & tags to decorate her cards so bring along all those old cards you saved from last year & put them to good use.

Card 4 for both groups is aptly called 4 in a row & is a way of using those peeloffs we all end up buying but never using.

Sylvia has used a bag & shoe theme but if you have other peeloffs you prefer to use bring them along instead.

Our last project for Bawburgh has been designed by Sheila & again its not a card.

This looks complicated but she has assured me its really simple to make. I'll be bringing along my cuttlebug to help make the panels for the front so if any other cuttlebuggers fancy bringing theirs along too it will be greatly appreciated.

Phew it looks as though we have got our work cut out to finish all these great projects in 1 session.

Well here I am at last, I still have no internet connection at home so I'm now using a connection at Norwich ski club whilst watching my daughter doing death defying jumps AARGGG.

Card 2 Christmas relief card

These cards are only small 7cm x 8cm (if I remember correctly) so once you master the technique they are a great way to use up all those scraps of cards we all hoard. As you can see I'm in a bit of a blue/lilac mode but if you prefer more traditional chrimbo colours please bring the appropriate supplies to do those colours instead.

Card 3 - Anytime card

A quick & simple card that uses all those peeloffs we all have. I'm sure Sylvia will not mind if you bring Christmas ones if you prefer.

Card 4 for Aylsham is in previous post & for Bawburgh this one will be a surprise as I have no images for you.

My slider cards

Well I hope everyone enjoyed the cards this time & Sylvia seemed to come away unscathed from her solo outing at Aylsham, although that could mainly be due to a lack of attendees. For all of you that were unwell I hope you are now feeling better soon & will be well enough to attend next month.

I thought I would show you my slider cards that I made following Sylvia's instructions.
I've used mainly Penny Black stamps. The trees in the background are cut from a sheet of backing paper that was in last years Dovecraft 8x8 pack & was called Christmas Blues, I think they work really well but let me know what you think.

This little fellow is just too cute for words. I added some bling by applying Stampin Up's Dazzling Diamonds using a 2 way glue pen to his hat & collar.
As you can also see I decided to add a greeting to the slider part of the card prior to assembling it, this was not so easy as it sounds but I found if you draw a line onto the slider through your gap on the card front you can then stamp onto this line to ensure it straight & can be seen. I hope that explanation made sense if not let me know & I'll take some photo of what I mean, to explain it more clearly.

This is another card I did using the same principles but this time the message is below the slider & is only revealed when the slider is pulled - Good Huh!!!!

If anyone would care to take a photo of their creations from the meetings please feel free to email a copy to me & I will upload it to the blog.

Remaining cards for Bawburgh

Well I never did find my original samples despite turning my craft room upside down in an attempt to find them so I've quickly put together another couple.

This first one is a simple christmas card using a leaf punch to make the wreath.

I will attempt to punch out enough leaves for you all but if any of you have a carl punch like this one please can you bring it along with you on Sunday as it will save time if more leaves are needed.

Also if you have any red glitter glue can you bring that along too instead of clear glitter glue that was on your lists.

My final card is entitled Christmas surprise on your list. The surprise being I had no idea what my 2nd card I showed you last month looked like, so I hope you like what I came up with. We are going to use liquid applique & glitter on the santa hats. If any of you have another cute animal stamp you would prefer to use then bring that along with you. As you can see I went for less tradional christmas colours this time.

Hi everyone hope you all had a good summer I know I certainly did. I cannot believe school holidays are over no more leisurely lie ins BOO HOO.

Well back to business here are some of the cards we will be doing this month. Cards 1 & 2 are for both groups but 3 is for Aylsham only. Aylsham can see their 4th card on last month post, its the folded card.

I'm afraid I have managed to lose my own card samples in the pit I call my craft room so if I do not find them today, I will quickly make up some more samples & upload them tomorrow.

Also I will not be attending Aylsham this month as its my daughter Amy's 8th birthday party so I'm afraid I will be up to my eyes with screaming children. So please spare me some thought while you are all busy "playing" & go easy on Sylvia.

Sheila's folded card

This is the card that Sheila taught us. It uses a single sheet of 12" x 12" double sided patterned card which is cleverly folded to form a square card with 2 slots on the card front. Into these slots a gift card, picture or tags could be placed.

I'm no good at folding (don't ask me to do teabag folding, the resulting "mess" is not a pretty sight!!!) but even I did not mess it up & I was really pleased with the end result.

If you do not have any double sided pattern card then why not stamp a random design onto the unpatterned sides. The finished card size can also be decreased by using a smaller than 12" square to begin with.

When I can fathom out how to explain the folds I will be adding the instructions to this post.

Sylvia's flower card

This is my version of Sylvia's flower card, I have left my front panel blank until I decide what greeting I want to add.

I did enjoy making this card & it did get me using my paper flowers again. Its also a versatile layout to use. Although this card used an A4 sheet folded in half, we managed to make a square version for one of our group, Louise, as she did not have the supplies to make the larger version & it turned out really well (although I do say it myself). You can see the card on our Bawburgh group shot, Louise is in the middle row in a pink top just behind Sylvia.

So for those of you who want to make this card at home here are the supplies you need.

1 A4 sheet of card.
Patterned paper cut to 21 x 14.8cm
Coordinating coloured or mirri card - 17.5 x 5cm & 12.5 x 3cm
another piece of different coloured coordinating card - 16 x 3.5cm
white card - 13 x 3.5
paper or silk flowers
3 small brads
18cm length of 1cm ribbon or could use a piece of your patterned paper
coordinating inkpads

The A4 sheet of card was folded to form base card. The patterned paper, largest coordinating card & white card were all cut with a deckle edge.

Some of the flowers & the cut white card were edged with the coordinating ink prior to being put on the card. The front panel was also raised with foam pads.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who came to this months meetings, I really didn't expected so many people to make the effort given the glorious weather we are having this weekend.

I took some pictures at the Bawburgh group today, which I have just sent to a card making magazine in the hope they choose us as their group of the month. I thought it would be nice for you all to see the group shot we had taken by the hall's caretaker (Thank you Mr Caretaker) We are all holding our favourite project of the day.

You can see I did try to hide behind my card but I did not quite succeed Ha Ha.

August Cards

I'm sorry that these cards have been posted later than I hoped but I forgot I had to go on holiday!!!!! Well better late than never & hopefully you will all forgive me.

This card we will be doing at both groups & was designed by Sylvia. She has coordinated the flowers & papers together & if you look closely you will see she has used ink to change the look of the original flowers & this will be something she will show you how to do.

Card 2 is one of my own designs & I have used some Stampin up stamps. Although this card is a Christmas card by changing the colours it can easily be adapted to become a birthday card & I will have an example of this with me.

Card 3 for Bawburgh only can be seen in the previous post & is the one with the cat on the front (unfortunately this stamp will not be available to use).

This is card 3 for Aylsham & is the flowerpot card that Sandra taught at Bawburgh last month.

There are similar cards to be found on the internet but Sandra has designed it in such a way that her version can be stood up like a normal card.

As you can see, to make the card quicker & easier to do I've used punches for my flowers & these will be available to use on Saturday.

Unfortunately the other cards on your lists I do not have examples for yet so these I will post after Sundays meeting.

Hopefully this has wetted all your appetites & I hope to see lots of you at the weekend.

July meeting

Well what an eventful weekend that was, it really made me appreciate it takes 2 to run the groups smoothly regardless of how many attendees we have.

You will all be pleased to know that Sylvia has made a full recovery & she promises that she will be fighting fit for the August meeting baring any more accidents with tables or dodgy tummies.

Well here are the pictures of the cards we all made & in a later post I will attempt to upload the cards for next months meetings.

This trifold mouse card was made at both groups. The stamps are by Dimension Fourth & I think I got the original idea from a card I saw on the stand at the Thetford show, which is on again on Sunday 23rd August. Please excuse the crease on my back page border, however much I try to get rid of it, it seems to want to stay put.

This wallet card was original taught to me by my friend & Stampin up upliner Lisa, who kindly agreed to let me teach it to the groups. This is not my original card as mine was accidentally taken home by one of our members so this was one I made very quickly hence its not quite finished. We used an A4 sheet of brown card which we halved lengthwise. After rounding off all the corners we applied versamark ink to the front only & then sprinkled on clear embossing powder. Prior to heating we made patterns using an embossing tool & then heat set the embossing powder. The effect is really cool & it looks as though you have used expensive leather effect card. Inside the wallet we created pockets using the leftover brown card. This is a great card for all those really hard to please men in our life's.

This last card we made at Aylsham only but we will be making it at Bawburgh next month. This is Sylvia's creation & she has used eyelets as an effective decoration as well as serving a purpose by holding the front & back of the card together.

The third card we made at Bawburgh was designed by Sandra using Stampin up products. When I obtain a picture of her card or I complete my own (which hopefully will be soon as Aylsham will be doing this card in August) I will upload an image for you all.

Well here goes, this is venturing into the unknown here. The plan is to show on this blog the creations we are planning to make each month so our members have a better understanding of what cards we are planning to make so they bring the appropriate supplies.
After the monthly meeting I will endeavor to upload the instructions for each card so if you cannot make the meeting you can make the cards at home.
Our next meetings are on 11/12th July. The cards for this month will be uploaded after the meeting as I should have my own computer back by then & Sylvia & I will arrange for next months cards to be posted soon.
