October 2016 cards

Hi everyone hope you are all keeping well & for those of you that attended the Thetford show last month, I look forward to hearing all about it.

I have certainly been busy since our last meeting. My new deputy sister's  job is keeping me really busy  and on my days off I have become an "archery widow" as I seem to spend my whole time being a taxi service, either taking them to archery practice or to a competition. But all that hard work has paid off as they both struck gold at their first ever competition & here are my 2 toxophilites (posh word for archery geeks)

Right now down to the real reason your reading this blog....

So this month fingers crossed we will endeavour to make 6 cards but hopefully you won't find it too hard going.

 So here goes with this month's offerings ;

Card 1- Easy Chrimbo card take 1

This is the card I made at last class whilst you were all hard at work and I decided to have a "play" with the stuff in my box

Any Christmas die or punch should work so feel free to bring along what you have in your stash.

Card 1b - Easy Chrimbo card take 2

This card uses the punched out left over from the first card  but as I thought it was a bit boring plain white I coloured it up & added some sparkle.

Card  2 a - false batik

This is my current favourite technique, I have found it soooo addictive. It's so easy to do and I have found different cardstock gives different results so if you have different brands of white card stock bring them along and see what happens.

You do need distress inks for this technique no other ink will do & the dark colours work best. You also need open design stamps so the following stamps will NOT work

Remember If you can colour the stamp image in it should work

So here is my sample

Card 2b - Christmas batik

Same technique this time made into a Christmas card. Slight confession I forgot to stamp a small sentiment before adding my focal image & now I don't want to risk ruining it, so if you want a greeting bring it along with you.

Card  3 - A glimpse of Christmas

Here is an unusual way to use your scraps of patterned papers

Card 4 - Christmas Joy

This is a simple but effective Christmas design

Hope you like this month's card & hope you can all make it this weekend x
