May 2015 cards

Hi everyone hope you are all keeping well. For once I did not have to be reminded by Sylvia to get my cards done, mainly because I thought club was this weekend but you never know I may have started a new trend  ;-).

So here goes with this months cards but remember club is not until after bank holiday .....

Card 1 - Faux background paper

This card will teach you how to create a look of using an extra layer of patterned paper with nothing more than some ink & a piece of torn paper. Feel free to change the colour scheme or theme.

Card 2 - Scroll time

I did not design any part of this card but simply copied the design on the front of the die packet as I thought it was really elegant.

Card 3  -  Simple Silhouette

This card uses your inks to create the background, it works best on glossy card stock & you can use a brayer or your ink brushes, which is what I used.

Card 4  - Embossing Double take

On this card you are using the same embossing folder for both layers & then creating a shadow for your foliage

April 2015 cards

YHi everyone. I have to say its so lovely to have proper Internet service again & to be able to get this blog going again.

I do hope you all had a lovely Easter & that the Easter Bunny brought you lots of lovely goodies. I got a huge box of Bunny Droppings AKA Malteasers so I was a very happy bunny :-)

As Sylvia said in her round robin I've gone for a bit of a nautical theme but this was due to me wanting to use a particular stamp 3 different ways so please feel free to change my designs if sailing is not your thing.

At the moment I have 2 completed cards which I will add here now & my 3rd card should appear later tonight but be aware that as I've yet to complete it,  I may add extra supplies to those in Sylvia's round robin, so here goes......

Card 1 - Sailing about

This card uses the card blanks that Heather donated to the group & I wanted you to have the opportunity to use some different embossing powders that give the effect of sand (although the picture does not do it justice). If you don't want to use my boat stamp something with a seaside theme would work best.
Also please forgive my dome being warped.  I forgot don't use heat guns near plastic as it melts it !!!

Card 2 - Card in a box

Again I've used my same boat stamp but cut elements out of it. I've included below 2 cards I did recently for a colleague at work using the same basic card design but it's the first card that I will bring the stamp for. If you wish to do a different design please feel free to bring your own stamps/punches to achieve this.

Different ideas But these stamps/ punches will Not be available unless you bring your own

Card 3 - Sailing about take 2. - sorry for the delay this card gave me headaches when it came to putting it all together :-(.
Note extra supplies below picture

February 2015 cards

Hi ladies, well this month is all about mica powders ie Perfect Pearls, Cosmic Shimmers. I hope to show you a few ways to use these products.

Sylvia has sent the list round but basically you need lots of dark coloured card stock ie black, navy, some white card, your mica powders, fine mist spray bottle containing water, soft bristle paint brushes, Teflon nonstick sheet, scrap coloured cards to coordinate with mica colours and LOTS of baby wipes

Added extra to this list would be distress inks, which we used to make a lovely background.

So here goes with the examples

Card 1- all of a flutter

Card 2 - Feather me down
This is a topper that I need to add to a card but it does show another technique as the background is made with perfect pearls & distress inks.

January cards2015

Hi everyone, this is a post meeting blog post, as we decided to take the pressure off myself & Sylvia you would all bring cards made with freebies that we all get on our magazines. Well you certainly raised to the challenge & I for one was overwhelmed with the great cards you all brought so here is a few pictures of the wonderful creations.
