February 2013 cards

Hi everyone hope you are all well and looking forward to another weekend full of crafting. I am hoping that those of you who attended the local craft show last weekend are full of inspiration & may be persuaded to demonstrate a card or 2 in the next few months (hint, hint),  just to ease the pressure on Sylvia & myself as I think we are both struggling at the moment due to our personal lives infringing on our crafting times. Just let us know over the weekend if you fancy having a go.
Begging over lets get back to this months cards.
I have tried to limit the amount of things I used for my 2 cards, so with that in mind I have found 2 new techniques that use similar resources to achieve 2 different looks PLUS as an added bonus I have done 2 different cards for each technique so you can choose which card you prefer to do on the day. They both use an Embossing / Die cutting machine so if you do own a Cuttlebug etc. plus embossing folders / dies & are willing to bring it along it will speed up things considerably & you may even get both versions of each card done.
So here goes…………
Card 1 – Puzzle Resist card
Version 1

Supplies needed
C6 card – Mine was SU Melon Mambo (pinky red) plus extra for sentiment mat
10 x 14.3cm mat – mine was SU Certainly Celery (light green)
9.5 x 13.8 mat  - white plus spare for sentiment
Embossing folder
Shaped die cutters/punch
Sentiment stamp/peeloff
At least 2 different coloured ink – mine was SU Melon Mambo & Marina Mist
Adhesive pearls/gems
Wet glue
Version 2

Supplies needed
C6 card – mine was SU Pretty in Pink
14.3 x 10cm mat – mine was SU Elegant Eggplant
13.8 x 9.5cm mat – white
Background stamp
Versamark ink
Clear Embossing powder
Pink, Purple & green inks
Sponge daubers/brushes
Spare white & purple card
Sentiment stamp/peeloff
small piece ribbon & 1 brad
Stick on gems
Kitchen roll
Scrap paper

Card 2 Faux Pressed Flowers
Version 1

Supplies needed
C6 pink card  -mine was SU Pretty in Pink PLUS spare card
Scrap purple, white & green card
2 tiny buttons – mine were purple
Sentiment stamp/peeloff
Ink
Embossing folder
Corner punch

Version 2

Supplies needed
C6 card – mine was mid yellow – CU So Saffron
Spare card for mat – mine was purple SU Elegant Eggplant & white
Scrap card – mine was yellow & purple (as above)
Small circle punch
Flower punch
Background stamp
Coordinating ink
Die cut frame shape
Embossing folder
SU’s bird on a branch punch
Stick on pearls

Card 3 – Punched Easter Bunny (oh poor Bunny!!

 

Supplies needed
C6  Blue card – ideally sky coloured
Scrap card (ideally at least 1/2 an A4)– white, black, green
Pink ink & sponge dauber
Pink pen
Butterflies (?what type see picture for clues)
The following Stampin Up punches (or equivalent)
1” & 1 1/4” circle
Plain oval
Boho Blossom
Easter greeting – stamp or peeloff
